Our Beliefs

We are an evangelical, reformed and presbyterian church in the North West of Nairobi city focused on Jesus Christ

Evangelical

We are a Church that is centred around the “evangel” the good news of Jesus Christ; His life, death, burial and resurrection for the salvation of us sinners. We therefore prioritize the proclamation of Jesus Christ through our small groups, our public reading of Scripture and preaching, our singing and our outreach activities. We believe that Christ’s saving message is not just the ABC of the Christian life, but the A to Z. This is what empowers us to grow in faith and to serve each other and our communities.

Reformed

We are a Church that delights in how the Spirit of God has led the Church in history. As such, we find the early Christian confessions in the Apostle’s Creed and the Nicene Creed and the Athanasius creed as good summaries of the Christian faith. We also hold dear the great truths that were rediscovered in the Protestant Reformation and which are proclaimed in Holy Scripture. Such foundational teachings include the five solas of the reformation which exalt the following five realities: faith alone, grace alone, Christ alone, Scripture alone, all for the glory of God alone. These truths are central to the Word of God and have been summarized in the reformed confessions and catechisms which we value such as:

Presbyterian

We are a Church that, will in time, be led by a plurality of elders who are accountable to the local church and to the wider church which is what we see as the pattern of Scripture (Acts 15, Acts 20:17-38, 1 Tim 3:1-7, Tit 1:5-16, 1 Pet 5:1-4). In conjunction with the elders, will be a team of deacons, whose work will be to support the needs of Christ Church (Acts 6:1-7, 1 Tim 3:8-13). For more see our Presbyterian Form of Governance
